That’s crazy. At least two people I know have recently bought property in the country because they can’t afford Melbourne prices. How long was this, about two weeks? At least it doesn’t block your view too much.
@Darren: I know. I think there’s more lumber in our Ikea dining table!
This whole sequence was just a few days over a month.
It does surprise me that you don’t see many houses built from wood in Australia – for a quick and cheap alternative. Maybe temp. and termites are stopping us. And bush fires.
I think they’re going to squeeze another house in to the right of that one. They’re packing them in sardine-style apparently.
